Mighty Mule systems run on a battery, charged by a solar panel or a plug-in transformer. That design makes the failures predictable.

When replacement is honestly the right answer
Sometimes it is. If the unit was undersized from day one, the motor has been overworked since week one and it will keep failing no matter how many boards you buy. Wide farm gates and heavy ornamental gates need more operator than a light-duty kit. If that is your gate, we will measure it, show you the numbers, and quote a properly sized operator. If not, we fix your Mighty Mule and go home.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you fix my Mighty Mule or will you just tell me to replace it?
We repair Mighty Mule systems whenever repair makes sense, and most of the time it does. Batteries, solar panels, boards, keypads and limit settings are all fixable. We recommend replacement only when the unit is undersized or the gearbox is failing, and we show you why.
How long does a Mighty Mule battery last?
It depends on cycles per day, heat, and how much sun the solar panel gets. Batteries are wear items and they do not last forever. If your gate is slow, stops partway, or only works for a few cycles before dying, the battery is the first thing we test.
My Mighty Mule keypad stopped working. Is that the keypad or the opener?
It can be either. Keypads fail from moisture, insects and lightning, but a dead keypad can also mean the whole system has no power because the battery is flat. We test the keypad, the receiver and the power supply so you are not paying to replace a part that was fine.
Can lightning really kill a gate opener?
Yes, and it is one of the most common causes we find in Middle Georgia. A nearby strike or a surge on the power line can take out the control board, the receiver, or the keypad without leaving a mark on the outside. Board replacement usually brings the system back.
Do you work on solar gate openers on farm gates?
Yes. Solar powered gates on pastures, timber tracts and poultry house drives are regular work for us. We check panel placement, shade, battery sizing and gate weight together, because a solar system that was undersized will keep failing until those are matched.
